EARLE’S CARES

In 2020, Earle’s launched Earle’s Cares, as a means to help our most vulnerable communities effected by COVID-19. Our non-profit was started as a result of the pandemic and the need to provide healthy meals to underprivileged families, elderly and the sick, who otherwise would not be able to provide for themselves.

From March- June we partnered with local politicians, the LAPD, and Beyond Meat as part of the Great Plates Delivered program, where we cooked and delivered healthy meals three days a week. Over the course of this program we were able to make and send almost 3,000 meals to private homes and assisted living facilities to ensure our elderly community could have safe access to meals. Volunteers called the elderly in our district weekly to provide welfare checks, confirmed dietary restrictions, and informed them of the meal menu. Many of the meal recipients have been long time supporters of our business. There was no greater pleasure than sharing compassion and light with them during this otherwise dark time.

In addition to our scheduled elderly deliveries, Earle’s Cares decided to share a small token of appreciation for the first responders working tirelessly every day. From July-August we provided over 400 meals to the staff and first responders at Cedar Sinai, Kaiser Hospital, Centinela Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. We were also able to donate over 100 N-95 masks to help with hospital PPE shortage.

Then in the summer, on August 10th, we launched “Meatless Mondays”. Meatless Mondays, is a weekly event hosted at Earle’s on Crenshaw, showcasing healthier lifestyle choices, local vegan vendors, and fresh produce. This event has seen such great success week after week, boasting recurring customers and local sponsorship and donations introducing a new clientele to the vast array of healthier accessible food options.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, in February 2021 we decided to relaunch the assessable meals program on our own. We are currently making hundreds of meals each week and delivering on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thanks to kind donations from the community we have been able to fund the program with the goal of it being an ongoing venture to our most vulnerable community .
